Client Background

I was recently hired to build a new online store for a jewelry shop based in Bridgend, UK. Their previous website was outdated, had limited functionality, and didn’t support modern e-commerce features. The business needed a fully functional online store that reflected the quality of their products, improved local visibility in Bridgend and surrounding areas, and provided a seamless shopping experience for customers.

The Problem

The old website lacked essential e-commerce capabilities and was not optimized for performance, mobile responsiveness, or SEO. Product pages were poorly structured, loading times were slow, and the website did not rank well for important local search terms, such as “jewelry shop Bridgend.” The design also failed to properly showcase the shop’s craftsmanship and product quality. The business required a complete rebuild with a focus on performance, usability, and local search optimization.

Solution

To modernize the online presence and provide a scalable shop system, the website was rebuilt using WordPress, Elementor, and WooCommerce. WooCommerce offered the best foundation for managing products, categories, inventory, and payments, while Elementor enabled fast development of a visually appealing, brand-consistent layout without compromising performance.

I structured the new website with a clean and intuitive product navigation system, focusing on categories such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, and custom pieces. Responsive design techniques were applied to ensure flawless shopping on mobile devices.

For SEO, I optimized product pages, category descriptions, metadata, and URLs, and implemented a local SEO strategy targeting searches related to Bridgend and nearby areas. Schema markup, improved site architecture, and fast-loading product galleries further supported SEO performance.

Additionally, I integrated secure payment gateways, a user-friendly checkout, product filters, wishlist functionality, and contact forms. I also connected the business’s social media profiles to strengthen brand presence and added a blog section to share jewelry care tips, announcements, and local updates.

Results

The new online store launched successfully with significantly improved performance, faster load times, and enhanced mobile responsiveness. The WooCommerce setup provided a streamlined shopping experience, reducing checkout friction and increasing conversions.

Local SEO improvements led to better rankings for key searches related to jewelry in Bridgend, helping the shop attract more nearby customers. The updated design showcased the beauty of the products more effectively, resulting in higher user engagement and lower bounce rates.

Overall, rebuilding the website with WordPress, Elementor, and WooCommerce transformed the shop’s digital presence, improved customer experience, and boosted both local visibility and online sales potential.
